Hotel Ripjack Inn, Playa Grande, Costa Rica
Playa Grande, as the name indicates, is a huge, long beach and has one of the most consistent waves in Central America. It’s a fast, barreling beach break with off-shore winds most of the year. The surf breaks best at high tide, as do most of the breaks in the area.
Playa Tamarindo is one of the most popular surf spots in Costa Rica. It’s a slightly easier wave and located just across a river mouth from Grande. You can paddle across from the south end of the beach or drive in about 25 minutes.
Playa Langosta is just south of Tamarindo, and accessed by a long walk or a thirty minute drive. It has a river mouth break, as well as sever
Playa Avellanas has beach, river mouth, and reef. breaks, and is approximately 45 minutes south of Grande.
Playa Negra is a famous right reef break with fast hollow barrels. This break is for the more experienced surfer. There are several other breaks going south.
Witch’s Rock and Ollie’s Point are world-famous surf spots usually accessed by boat. There are several options in boats, from simple to luxurious, with varying price levels.
The Yoga Shala at hotel RipJack Inn is a place for health and well being and you will feel that the moment you enter the yoga studio nesteled in our bamboo garden. The Yoga Shala offers a full schedule of yoga, Zumba and dance for both adult and children. Please check our schedule for current classes and events!
The Yoga Shala also offers private sessions of Pransassage, an original blend of yoga assists and bodywork in which the receiver's role is to completely relax. The intention of the pranassage practitioner is create a sacred space for the receiver to go inward and completely unwind as gravity assists the flow of prana. Each session is designed around the needs of the individual and is appropriate for a beginner or one with years of yoga practice.

Emily's Vinyasa Flow Class and style of yoga has evolved from the core values of Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Kripalu. With an acknowledgeable background of functional anatomy and therapeutics each class is designed to awaken the physical body through organic sequencing of posture flows, practice of pranayama, and meditation. All levels of practice are welcome as each individual explores their yoga journey.
This class brings together a strong physical practice with a deep focus on breath, energy and healing postures. With over ten years teaching experience Annie has developed an intuitive teaching style that allows her to create classes that are appropriate for all levels of students. Students are encouraged to explore different postures with a deep sense of self awareness and well being. Classes are set to music and create a perfect balance between effort and surrender.
This intro to dance class is designed to spark an interest in the toddler dancers. It offers a fusion of Ballet, Jazz, and Creative free-dance. Ballet is the basics of all styles and necessary foundation for every dancer. Jazz is more upbeat and contemporary. This 60 minute class promotes strength, flexibility, & grace.
In this class we will explore the foundations of yoga and meditation and integrate the two into a moving mindful playful practice.

Every Dance Aerobics class combines dance-based cardio with strength training and stretching to sculpt, tone and lengthen muscles for maximum fat burn. Choreographed to today's hottest music, Dance Aerobics is a mix of hip-hop dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, and kickboxing. You are guaranteed to have fun and dance your body into shape!

This beginning level class offers 30 minutes of Ballet and 30 minutes of Jazz. This allows the student of progress in 2 different styles of dance. In this class we will dive into a gentle hot yoga flow, followed by a relaxing restorative yoga cool down.

Our open air restaurant is located on the second floor and offers a unique tree top dining experience. RipJack also offers private chefing, full catering service and specializes in weddings and other special events. We offer a highly unique menu of fresh local seafood as well as tasty treats from the land. We are family friendly and offer special menus for kids twelve and under.
